The question in my head has always been: 'what bags do stylish working women want'? -Clare Vivier
From that question, we’re building a brand dedicated to chic, functional, and fun products made by a group of kind, diligent colleagues, and along the way lending support to the causes that we believe in.
Founded in 2008, Clare V. combines laid-back California style with Parisian polish. Our assortment now includes handbags, wallets & other small leather goods, clothing, hats, fashion jewelry, and whatever else we can dream up. All of our products are thoughtfully designed and crafted to bring joy.
As a journalist working for French television, Clare Vivier noted the lack of stylish laptop cases on the market and decided to create a line of bags and accessories of her own to address this need. Vivier began marketing her line through a personal blog, developing a signature aesthetic and conveying a lifestyle that resonated with customers and fans. Vivier attributes her sense of chic simplicity to her strong connection to France where she spends a significant amount of time each year with her son and French documentarian husband, Thierry Vivier. In 2014, Vivier was recognized for her contributions to design as a new member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Defined by a delicate marriage of classic shapes, modern detail and Parisian charm, the Clare V. line continues to push the design envelope with each collection. While her bags are available at retailers worldwide, Vivier firmly roots herself in Los Angeles where her line has been designed and produced since 2008. As the brand has grown, Vivier has collaborated with Steven Alan, & Other Stories, GOOP, Jean Stories and Apple, among others. Since opening the her flagship store in the Silverlake neighborhood of L.A. in 2012, Vivier has opened new Clare V. retail locations in Nolita, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Brooklyn, Newport Beach, and San Francisco.
